Unmarried- & multiplayer runs fine, but can't download custom maps, anyone got a solution for this

Have tried disabled firewall but no luck

I wish someone would be able to set up it. I tin't play multiplayer custom maps on Windows vii. There has to be something else going on here if you lot turned the firewall off with no deviation.

I did not have this trouble with vista but now I am using Win vii I have the message Server Farcry two error
Re-install the game twice no effect
I think it might exist in relation with PunkBuster who is not supporting the Win7 beta version, now I just wait for the EOM version and let meet

i have win7 not the beta and it nonetheless doesn't piece of work so either vista or no custom maps and i ain't going dorsum to that ____ chosen vista

Yeah information technology is due to punkbuster. They are blocking the application from downloading the maps. They said that they were going to exist supporting Windows 7 when it was released, merely I have not seen an update even so. You may need to go to evenbalance.com and expect for news.
i lookep upward evenbalance.com and they didn't update anything for far cry 2 for almost a year so i am just gona look on the internet for other answers i volition postal service if i find something
From what I run across , it is not a punkbuster issue... In ubisofts forums you will see FC2 does Not support windows 7. This is unbelievable to say the least but you should non be suprised. They gave up on this game long ago..

After testing last dark, some are able to Dl maps and some are non.

I did a upgrade and I am unable to DL. Friend has fresh install of W7 and is able to??

Are you getting any kind of fault message? The mutual one I encounter all over the internet is the famous Unknown Windows API. I remember you might be right. In the beginning, all of united states of america running the Beta, RC, and RTM of Windows vii could non play on custom multiplayer maps. Everyone blamed it on Punkbuster. Now I meet a post from the UBI forum where an UBI tech rep says FC2 is not supported in Windows 7.

Nice....all along we accept been blaming Punkbuster...
The error bulletin i get when trying to dl from the map customs in the FC2 multiplayer : Error trying to download the map: problem with the FC2 server..

I have too tried to dl from a hosted game with the host map sharing enabled ...bulletin : download failed.

If y'all see the files for FC2 are now in the documents folder in W7.. They use to exist located in in the user/ app data / my games. But I just talked to one of my clan members and he tin can run FC2 and DL from the community without a problem. (W7 64 fresh install, no upgrade )

I also noticed when I upgraded to Windows 7 - 64bit from Vista- 64bit I lost well-nigh all my FC2 maps. Out of 1200 maps it only saved 42. Does
anyone know if old files tin can be recovered ?? And if so, where they are located..
I did a fresh install of Win7 besides, but I still can't download the maps. And then I don't believe it is a fresh install.
Turns out it is a simple fix.

Search your Windows\System32 folder for the Winhttp.dll file then re-create it into your Farcry2/bin directory , restart your game and you should exist able to download custom maps no trouble.

How you can find farcry/bin on the pc? i desire to copy windows\system32 to farcry/bin, but i can't discover it, tin you explane how?

Last fourth dimension ive been playing Far Cry 2 i was using Wndows XP.

Today ive decided to reinstall the game only now im using Wndows seven.

I accept the same problems when i endeavor to download a map in the game.

Above solution didnt work, i guess i have to throw the game abroad.

you needWinhttp.dll from your windows xp or vista system32 directory. then put that file in your Farcry2/bin directory. that will prepare it.
